Do you offer consultations?
Yes, Consultations are available for $50 as a standalone service, during your appointment, we'll discuss your hair goals, current challenges, scalp+ curl concerns, maintenance expectations, and the best service plan for your hair journey. 
If you choose to pre-book a qualifying future service during your consultation, your consultation fee will be credited toward that appointment.

Do you offer kids cuts?
Yes, I love caring for my littlest clients. Kids haircuts are available for textured, curly, and straight hair types and are approached with patience. 
Dry cutting options are available when appropriate. However, if your child's hair requires extensive detangling, a full reset, treatment work or additional styling time, an upgraded service or new client package may be recommended and priced accordingly.

Are you accepting new clients?
Yes, absolutely! All new clients start with the New Client Curl or Blowout Experience.  This experience allows us to reset your crown, decode your curl pattern, assess your hair & scalp needs, and create a customized plan for healthier, more manageable hair whether you wear it curly, blown out, or both.
If you're not quite ready for the full new client experience, standalone dry cuts are also available for all hair textures while still receiving intentional care and strategy.

Do you do bridal hair?
Yes, bridal services are one of my specialties. Packages begin at $500 and include personalized preparation, intentional style planning, and on-site styling for your special day.

What qualifications does Kristy Hyde have to care for coily, kinky and textured hair?
Caring for textured hair is more than a specialty for me, it's both lived experience and professional dedication. Growing up surrounded by the beauty, culture, and diversity of the Sea Islands helped shape my understanding and appreciation of textured hair in all forms.
Over the years, I've studied and worked with a wide range of curl patterns, locs, natural hair care, and extension techniques across multiple textures and cultural traditions long before textured hair care became a mainstream salon focus.
My advance education includes training through Forever Curls Academy, along with continued education in healthy hair car, curl education, scalp wellness, and modern textured cutting techniques. 

What inspired you to specialize in curls?
As a teen and up I wore braids, sew-ins, and slicked back ponytails for weeks at a time because I didn't know how to handle my own hair out. Eventually, I cut it all off just to start over. What I really needed was education, not a new style. Once I became a professional, I saw the gap in salons spaces. I never found a salon I truly felt I or my clients were seen in, so I built one. I stopped performing for industry expectations and started leading with purpose. That shift led to the birth of Carolina Curl Decode  a coaching based salon experience rooted in intention, care, and real curl results.

Yes, intentionally. Heat is used as a tool, not a crutch. My philosophy blends styling, hydration coaching, and custom curl care-based on your hair's unique needs.
